Every yellow wrist band is a story. The millions that wear them share in a common cancer experience. It is through sharing our stories that we unite to put a stop to the disease that steals the people we love.
LIVESTRONG empowers us to help each other through the cancer journey. Its mission is to push survivors and loved ones beyond their limits to embrace survivorship. Whether you beat cancer, are caring for or lost someone, or are in the middle of the fight of your life - LIVESTRONG has a community that can help you navigate your experience. With the money they raise, LIVESTRONG provides direct one-on-one cancer support, offers programs for young adults, creates curriculums for schools and makes grants to community programs that give direct support to cancer patients.
Three out of four families will care for someone with cancer. One out of three of us will face a diagnosis in our lifetime. There are more than 28 million cancer survivors in the world. And here in the United States nearly 569,000 people will die of the disease this year.
Team Revolution is a group of friends and family dedicated to supporting LIVESTRONG’s mission of empowering survivors across the globe to conquer cancer. In 2011, we will be walking, running and cycling our way to raising thousands of dollars to benefit LIVESTRONG. Together we will challenge ourselves past our own personal limits in the hopes of preventing, surviving and ultimately eliminating cancer.
